          Ernest Hilbert is the editor of the Contemporary Poetry Review. His poetry has appeared in The New Republic, American Poet (Academy of American Poets), The Boston Review, LIT, Pleiades, McSweeney's, The New Formalist, The American Scholar, Verse, Fence, and Volt. Hilbert received his doctorate in English Literature from Oxford University, where he earlier completed a Master's Degree and founded the Oxford Quarterly. As a librettist, he is a frequent collaborator with the composer Daniel Felsenfeld. Their operas, song cycles, and oratorios have been performed over the past several years in New York City, both uptown and down. He is an agent at Bauman Rare Books, the largest antiquarian and first edition book dealer in North America.
