ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPH AND SCHEMATIC REPRESENTATION OF AN ACCIDENT

Critics of the written reports of police accident investigators claim the form of the report is a design for the statistical coding of the reported information, and that this form is distracting to reporting officers and interferes with the investigator's attempt to report what he has discovered as the result of his work at the accident scene. These critics suggest a siple narrative traffic accident report to "get the story." Unfortunately, statisticians tend to be closer to police executives than officers on field duty.
