Take a bite to carry with you when you go,
to swallow and exhale or, if you like,
savour slowly like some sweet
exchange. When you go, I'll take the chance
to swear by you, jump to subtle your influence.
I’ll tumble down to the darks of heaven. As if
you could stop me even now.

This poem started when I was frustrated with every other poem I was working on. I let the crazy words go their way onto the computer screen and ignored them for months. Then I came back to them and thought I'd make an attempt at shaping this thing. I guess it turned out okay. |
