NO. 5 FIVE WANDS, REVERSED

It is June/July/ August: the unspoken
semicolons that string together

slow slide of asphalt against
stinging days & lanterns swinging

legs in late syrup night
through freeway ribbons (red, white)

compact&diffract these, link by
subtext into causality. Implied punctuation:

fevered dreams pull us through for
a new verb tense of the retroactive.

She had not yet until I remembered
for her. No, not quite – Agency:

she did when I remembered what she
would have: passed opportunities.

NO. 12 CHANGE OF

The air here is wrought through with strange
amplitudes & frequencies. We

line down crosswalks, telephone
wires but cannot match us

to those others. So standing in this:
postal, we formally declare

of distance & look out against/
through planar space, and your forwarding

address now plots down our
parabola—shift for our asymmetry

to clear smooth the phase & arc over
parking lots and heat that push

the move through speaking into another
side of a looking-glass glance.

on Five Wands, Reversed:
Fifth in a sequence called "Filament Days." Imagined histories: our
retroactivity; what if you could actually get what you wanted?
Mirage-lines in the rearview/parenthesis of side-mirrors. Glory &
Strife: there's some balance in inversion, but the equation presages
a shift in the wind: distance equals rate times time.
on Change Of:
Twelfth in a sequence called "Filament Days." Navigation, location;
when you move; ties to topography. Your lines are a glory/quick as
alchemy.
