Virgil O. Smith, "Organizational Control through Trust: A Biblical System?," The Journal of Biblical Integration in Business, Christian Business Faculty Association, 1999 There are several other things that are generally agreed upon in the secular literature. First, the object of trust is some future event. Since the event is in the future, it is (at least perceptually) surrounded by uncertainty, so there is an element of risk attached to it. Since we are not able to control the event ourselves, faith or belief in one or more person(s) who can control the event is required.
