The following is an example of a case that did not make progress.
Case #24 was a young woman who was having an affair with a married man. He said he was happily married and was only interested in her as a source of sexual diversion—a break in his married routine. She was desperately in love with him. "I can live with that," she said. "I know he will never leave his wife for me. But I don't see him very much, and I've gotten to the point where I spend all day thinking about him. My problem behavior is that I can't concentrate on anything else. It's becoming an obsession. I've got to stop it."
