Reception for a portable union:
tingling ears—all about us—
a bout of sideways glances,
An edgewise talk, wide enough
for lengthy tongue
wagging, flagging
interest.
All ways we sound
off—soft, pointedly
on this side of healthy curiosity
and wringing hands.
We are pressed again,
asking what happened
in the reverb.

I was thinking about new and old forms of communication, especially in terms of maintaining relationships across distances.
