Daniel A. Olivas is an attorney with the California Department of Justice who specializes in environmental enforcement and land use. He is author of Assumption and Other Stories (Bilingual Press, 2003) and The Courtship of Maria Rivera Peña (Silver Lake Publishing, 2000). A second collection, Devil Talk, is pending. His stories, essays and poems have appeared in The MacGuffin, Exquisite Corpse, the Los Angeles Times and THEMA among others, and in anthologies such as Fantasmas: Supernatural Stories by Mexican American Writers (Bilingual Press, 2001).
