Michael Seringhaus is a graduate student and researcher in computational biology and bioinformatics at Yale, as well as a Writing Fellow. He serves on the editorial board of the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine and on that of another, lighter-hearted magazine for his 800-person department. “Ashen Tycoon” is his fourth story about consulting detective Winston Price and his Boswell, Franklin Slims.
