Associated Writing Programs has merged with the former Writers' Conferences & Festivals. WC&F dissolved itself as a nonprofit organization in September, and AWP will now administer WC&F's former responsibilities. WC&F will continue working under its own name as a division of AWP. Former WC&F members will now be part of the AWP membership as affiliate members. In the Writer's Chronicle, the newsletter of AWP, Executive Director David Fenza said, "The missions of WC&F and AWP were so similar, and our services so closely parallel, that it seemed inevitable that we would join forces... There was clearly the potential for beneficial exchanges between WC&F's membership, and our programs and individual writers.
