Rafael Campo is the author of The Other Man Was Me (National Poetry Series, 1993), What the Body Told (Duke University Press), and The Desire to Heal: A Doctor's Education in Empathy, Identity and Poetry (WW Norton, 1998). His work appears in Best American Poetry, 1995, Double Take, The Nation and many other publications. He is on faculty at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where his medical practice serves Latinos and people with AIDS. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship for 1997-98.
