Call for One-Page Pedagogy Papers:
The Use of Literary Magazines in the Creative Writing Classroom
Prairie Schooner is including a pedagogy forum as part
of its 75th Anniversary Celebration and
Conference to be held October 11-13, 2001, and you are invited to submit
one-page papers that
address any teaching strategies related to the use of literary magazines
in the writing classroom. The
conference and celebration will be a terrific weekend of readings by
some of the biggest names in
literary publishing today, as well as panels on the work of Joyce Carol
Oates, the work of Marilyn
Hacker, literary magazines and publishing, and the history of Prairie
Schooner (and we guarantee
that after 75 years of continuous publication, we have more than a
few stories to tell). So crank out a paper, come to the conference to share
your ideas, and join in the celebration!
Papers must be complete at one page with 1 ½ inch left- and right-hand
margins and good quality
print for copying purposes. Single-spaced papers are acceptable, and
your name, affiliation, and
position should appear above the title. Send papers to Kate Flaherty
at Prairie Schooner, 201
Andrews Hall, Lincoln NE 68588-0334, and write "Pedagogy Papers" on
the outside of your
envelope. Postmark deadline for pedagogy papers is May 31, 2001. Upon
acceptance, you will
receive a written letter of invitation to participate in "The Use of
Literary Magazines in the Creative
Writing Classroom: Pedagogy Forum." For more information on the pedagogy
papers or the conference, contact Kate Flaherty at Prairie Schooner: (402)
