Poets of the Old World were intriguing, powerful, fierce, beautiful, and simple people.

About The Host, Meena Gupta
|
 |
Meena comes from a rich heritage. A Bengali from Kolkatta
India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Her parents developed this
unique bond in a home with two religions, Hinduism and Islam
which opened a new world for her. Tolerance, patience,
acceptance and love were the key words that surrounded her
childhood.
Meena stepped into broadcasting and teaching by accident and
not by design, an adventure that would change the course of her
life as a career woman in Pakistan, a developing country. These
were honorable professions from all standards, especially in a
patriarchal society where job-seeking women are often susceptible
to a number of misinterpretations.
Meena had an illustrious career as a news anchor-woman on
TV/radio, and it was during this time that several independent
awards such as the Graduate award were bestowed on her. She
has been trained at BBC London in broadcasting disciplines such
as interviewing, news reporting, production, and editing. As an
Anchorwoman for Pakistan National News, she received the
National Graduate Award and the National Council of Arts
Award. She has sixteen years of extensive communication
production experience in television and radio broadcasting in both
Pakistan and the U.S.
Meena's Story Telling performances at the Smithsonian and the
Brooklyn Museum of Art which required dramatic interpretation
of the 15th century Moghul Art received exceptionally good
reviews in the local papers. She continues to serve as an
ambassador of goodwill by promoting Asian Classical Poetry on
the Poet's of the old world in the form of an internet and cable
