Since inception in 1994, Web Del Sol has been considered by the literary arts community to be the single best source for contemporary poetry and fiction online. Nearly 500 other websites link to WDS. With over 15 hosted magazines, dozens of chapbooks, significant portal content, plus its own original art, poetry, fiction, columns, reviews, and interactive community, WDS has been steadily increasing in size and readership, growing in traffic at a steady pace of 30% each year to upwards of 20,000 hits or 500 readers per day.
The demographics of WDS are no different than those of other literary magazines and periodicals such as Poets & Writers. The vast majority of readers are between the ages of 25 and 65, incomes largely between $30K and $60K but with a significant number greater than $60K, and less than 10% are pre-college or have no college education.
