"CRAFT-IN-PROGRESS I"   |   LIMIT SEVEN STUDENTS
  Cost: $595.00 Dates: 10/9 - 12/17/06 (10 Sessions Online)

FACULTY: D. NEAL, M. NEFF AND ALEX GLASS OF TM (bios)

For writers who either wish to begin the novel or prepare the novel-in-progress for publication. CIP I focuses on the creation of emotional and intellectually powerful works in a model-and-context learning environment. Students in CIP I examine, discuss, and complete specific craft exercises derived from direct analysis of a select group of works (see "Syllabus" and "Author List"). Students learn an impressive array of narrative, scene, and character evolution technique, thus enabling them to begin, enhance, and/or reconstruct their novel in more powerful ways. Students are also provided considerable instruction and reference materials, including structural and narrative checklists. By immersing in the craft and narrative learned from CIP authors, the student's expectations and goals for their own novel are considerably raised. Market and agent options will be discussed. After the fifth week, each student will have a unique opportunity to PITCH THEIR NOVEL to a top agent in the business (see Visting Agent below) and get specific advice on how to make that novel publishable in the context of today's extremely competitive market. If you need more info, drop us an email or call at 1-800-250-8290.

Please APPLY below. Registration payment due following acceptance.
